Itinerary

Boston

Spend the next few days really discovering Boston. Put on your walking shoes and explore the Freedom Trail, a 3-mile walking tour of 16 historic sites from the Colonial and Revolutionary Era, enjoy a Duck Tour on the Charles River and soak up the ‘Covent Garden style’ atmosphere of Quincy Market. Watch a Red Sox at Fenway Park and sample a pint at the Samuel Adams Brewery.

Falmouth & Cape Cod

"72 miles"

This morning depart for Plymouth. See Plymouth Rock, upon which the Pilgrims first stepped. Board a replica of The Mayflower, the ship which carried them to the New World, and explore living museum, Plimoth Plantation, a recreated village of 1627. Continue to Cape Cod, famous as a summer resort with its 300 mile coastline, picturesque harbours, art galleries and plentiful restaurants. Historic and quaint seaside town Falmouth is conveniently situated, offering a perfect location to explore the surrounding Cape. Visit Sandwich, the Cape's oldest town, whilst Hyannis gained fame as the summer residence of the Kennedy family. Chatham, with it's pretty lighthouse and the colourful, artistic community of Provincetown are both worth a visit too.

Martha's Vineyard

"20 miles"

From Woods Hole board the ferry for the 45 minute journey across to Martha’s Vineyard, and spend the rest of today and tomorrow exploring the island’s variety of landscapes in the six independent towns. Tour ‘down island’, the busy fashionable eastern half of the vineyard where Oak Bluffs, Edgartown and Vineyard Haven lure the rich and famous. Meanwhile, ‘up island’, you will find more sparsely populated and sleepy towns to the west like Aquinnay known for it’s beautiful clay cliffs, quiet natural serenity and one of the few nudist beaches left in the US.

Old Saybrook, Connecticut

"159 miles"

Depart the Vineyard for Connecticut and stop en route to visit Mystic Seaport, the museum of America and the sea. Set on 17 acres it depicts 19th century seafaring life. Continue on to Old Saybrook, a charming historical coastal community where you will be spending tonight. This evening visit nearby Foxwoods or Mohegan Sun, the country’s two largest casinos - under one roof. Try your luck at gambling or enjoy a show.

The Hamptons

"40 miles"

It’s a short ride today to the Orient Point Ferry where you will board for the 40 min trip to the tip of Long Island. On arrival visit North Fork‘s wineries and surrounding region. Then take two short shuttle ferries to The Hamptons located on the South Fork. The Hamptons are a popular seaside resort, making up the villages on the most eastern part of Long Island. With some of the most expensive residential properties in the US, it’s frequently featured in films and television. The Hampton’s history, beautiful gardens, arts, culture and stunning beaches draw the affluent from NYC and surrounding states. Spend time relaxing one of the beaches, strolling the charming villages filled with boutiques and art galleries or instead visiting the wineries or horse back riding.

New York City

"120 miles"

Today travel West toward New York City where you can drop off your hire car and then spend the next few days in ‘The Big Apple’ – the city that never sleeps. Visit the iconic Empire State Building for incredible views of the city, see a show on Broadway and pay your respects at the 9/11 museum. With some of the best shopping in the country so a trip to Fifth Avenue is definitely in order before your flight home!
